How to use the Guestbook

The Guestbook is relatively easy to use.  Just try it and see.  To start just click on the 'General' button in the NVSS Discussions.  This will open a window and show all the threads (think Topics) that are currently posted.  After viewing the various threads, if there is one that you want to see all the posts that have been made to that thread/Topic, just click on it and another window will appear with all the discussions that have been posted for that thread/Topic.  If you want to reply to it then just click on the 'Reply' button and a screen will open that will allow you to enter whatever text you wish to enter.  At the end just scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the 'Update' button at the bottom and your response will be posted to that thread.

HOW TO START A NEW THREAD

To start a new thread you will see a 'New Thread' button on the NVSS Discussions page.  Just click on this and a screen will open that allows you to enter a Subject along with your discussion.  Again when you are finished just click on 'Update' at the bottom of the page and your new thread/topic will be displayed along with your comments.  It's that simple.

Re: How to use the Guestbook

While the guestbook instructions are simple, clear, and the system is NOT hard to use, I find it is not "intuitive" to the new user.  After 49 years in the computer industry, I had little trouble with it, but I am NOT sure that will be sure to the casual user.  Expecting such people to read ANY instructions, rather than click on an icon seems to ""befuddle" the typical user.  But look out, Felix is on the loose again.
