2007 - New Year, Old & New Friends
Every year at this time I think of the past years of NVSS softball, and am grateful for the opportunity to join others on the field, renewing old friendships, making new friends, and remembering old team mates who no longer are on the field.  I thank all of those players, and the managers, and the officers who have made these past years enjoyable beyond my wildest expectations.  And I look forward to another year of fun on the field.  And every time I add a note to the guest book I thank Don, and his predecessor, Walt Belknap.  My verbal bouts with Walt in the old guestbook were great fun.  If only Max Clay could be funny....

Re: 2008 - New Year, Old & New Friends
Wow -  now 6 weeks into this season, lots of rainouts, and some old friends missing, like Harry Williams, Doc Martin, Mary Adams, Durwood Armsrong and Joe Hartsoe, all long term members who helped make NVSS what it is today.   Good to see many others returning for another season, and I have met a fair number of new players who joined us this year.  While I won't be back until the fall (hip replacement) I look forward to joining you all then.  Now, as only a spectator, I can still enjoy watching the games and talking to many old and new friends.  Time marches on, and NVSS continues to provide great recreation and friendship to many norhern Virginians (and some out-of staters too).
