Learning Experience
I played one season for John Seaton (AL-Teal) and four seasons for Max Clay (AL-Black).  I learned how to manage from them.  Right now Seaton's Teal team is 7-3 and Max Clay's Black team is 2-8.  I am co-managing CL- Maroon and our record is 2-8.  I guess I should have played more seasons for John Seaton.

Re: Learning Experience
After my earlier comments on learning from Managers Max Clay and John Seaton, I have an update.  For the last four years I have played in the Espirit de Corps tournaments for Julian Levine (2 years as a Ranger), Ray Blythe (Snipers 2006) and Ernie Vuley (Snipers, 2007) and we have won.  (I get assigned to good teams!)  But for short tournaments, and with only limited knowledge of their players, these guys have been winners, and played a major role in the victories.  But this year topped them all.  Manager Ernie Vuley brought up a former star from North Carolina to assist the struggling Snipers on their final day.  Coming out of retirement, this old ball player became the spark that was the last bit to carry us over the top, and enabled the Snipers to defeat the until-then undefeated Destroyers in the final game, clinching it by making the final putout.  Despite his having played in ALL of the previous Espirit de Corps tournaments, this was his FIRST championship.  While being reassigned from the Air Force to an Army team wasn't his first choice, he had to admit it increased his chances on winning it all.  Congratulations to the former "Commander-in-Chief" Bob Wilson.  You deserve the game ball.

Re: Learning Experience
Hey Max Clay and John Seaton -  if you don't learn how to use the guest book you are unable to defend yourselves.  I guess history is always written by the victors.  But when I see they are both leading good teams to .500 or below records, I have got to search for other managers that can show me how to win.

Re: Learning Experience
I Shall Return  -  This April First I had a date with Dr Andy Eng, of the Anderson Clinic and he replaced my old battered right hip with a shiny new ceramic, steel and titanium beauty.   I plan to return to the field in September, and everything is going right on schedule.   The best part is the pain is gone.  The worst part is that I am not playing until then.  But you all will see me as a spectator.  'Til then, I'll be laughing on the ouside but missing playing on the inside.  Felix
